Raja Seat literally means “Seat of the Kings”, is one of the most popular tourist spots in Coorg. It is located in Madikeri and is a beautiful place presenting a refreshing setting. The sunset and sunrise make for a mesmerizing view and is worth capturing in your cameras.
Coorg is the land of coffee and awestricking nature, the home for some of the most beautiful waterfalls. Abbey Waterfalls is one of the worth visiting sightseeing places in Coorg. Its scenic charm, coupled with aromatic plantations of coffee and spices.
General Thimayya, one of the most notable Indian soldiers from Kodagu, gets a befitting honor for his valuable services to the country. Spread across 2.6 acres in Madikeri, the war memorial will feature a variety of antique weaponry and war relics, including a canon and a decommissioned MiG-21 fighter jet.
Chelavara is a wide and milky waterfall in Kodagu district. Chelavara Falls is a serene waterfall created by a tributary of river Kaveri, with a 150 ft drop over a rock said to resemble the shape of a tortoise. Chelavara Waterfalls can be visited during any time of the day.
Nalknad Aramane is located in a village named Yavakapadi in the kakkabe town. In order to protect against enemy armies, Dodda Virarajendra built an underground tunnel which originated from the palace and ended at Madikeri.
Madikeri Fort is one of the interesting places in Coorg. In 1814, the fort was built with mortar and bricks by the Lingarajendra Wodeyar II. There have been battles which the fort has seen and thus represents a rich historical and cultural background.
The Tibetan Monastery is located around 6 km from Kushalnagar. This Place is one of the largest Tibetan settlements in India. There are around 16000 refugees and nearly 6000 monks and nuns in this monastery.
Nisargadhama is a breathtakingly beautiful island off the state highway, two km from Kushalanagar town and 28 km from Madikeri. This 64-acre island, surrounded by the Cauvery river, can be accessed by walking across a hanging bridge.
